September Evening Sail
The evening sail on September 11th was well attended with lots of boats on the water. Once again Jenny Sharpe did a grand job with the refreshments and this time branched out with the added attraction of pie and chips in addition to the usual sausages and burgers. The weather was good and there was an unexpected bonus when a large coaster slowly reversed past the pond at around 9:00 pm. Whoever was in control of it did a grand job as it passed through the bridge backwards without touching the sides.
Ted Holmes' tug Leviathan put in a rare appearance as it cruised around the pond occasionally spraying its fire hoses at the unsuspecting viewers.
Paddy Rew's well lit up pleasure cruiser.
Cruiser, very realistically lit lit in the early evening, belongs to Tom Pearce of York MBC
One of the biggest boats ever seen on the pond at Goole, complete with Salty the sea dog as crew.
Darran Newman's Springer shows that although its not very big, its has plenty of power, by pulling the club tow around the pond.
Yes it really did get dark - and the lights gone out in the lighthouse.
