Visits to Other Clubs
07/07/2012 re york regattta open day
Unfortunatly due to the large volume of wate falling from the sky the regatta at Rowntree park had to be cancelled .
In 2011 the club visited York MBC regattas in Rowntrees Park on two occasions. Both days were generally warm and dry and there were lots of visitors interested in finding out about model boating. However the sad news was that the cafe in the park is to close and be converted into a library so there will be no bacon butties on offer next year.
Here's a general view of the Goole gazebo at the spring open day.
Ted Holmes' tug Leviathan had to be rescued by Steve Agar's coaster after a power failure while towing the York club's 'dumb' freighter Balboa.
However on a later occasion Leviathon had recovered and was demonstrating its fire power, being careful not to spray the public with water contaminated with goose s**t.
